Michael was a long way from home when we were impacted by the global COVID-19 pandemic earlier this year. He lost his job suddenly and had no income and no way he could afford his flights home. Suddenly with global restrictions in place, flights became expensive and difficult to book. His rent was accruing, and he had little money left over for food or utilities.
Michael reached out to Bravery Trust and our professional team went to work to get Michael safely back to his Queensland home. We eventually found him a flight to Melbourne where he quarantined for two weeks before finally making it back to his family.
“By the kind work of Bravery Trust and the care and attention shown by your staff, I have been able to return to Australia and can see the light at the end of the tunnel.”
“I still have a long way to go on this journey, it’s through people like Bravery Trust that ex-service members feel they can continue life after military service. I only recently separated from the Defence Force and I am still working on my transition, but it makes it easier knowing that there is support out there when it is needed.
“Thank you so much for your support and your continued support of me and my family.”
