Defence Bank Continues Support For Veterans Through Bravery Trek 2026

Defence Bank will return as a national sponsor of Bravery Trek 2026, continuing its commitment to supporting the financial wellbeing of the Defence community through its partnership with Bravery Trust.

Held throughout October, Bravery Trek brings Australians together to raise funds for veterans and families facing financial hardship through a virtual challenge or Dusk till Dawn, a 12-hour overnight team event in Canberra.

Participants can choose to complete a 120km or 240km virtual challenge across the month or take part in Dusk till Dawn at the Australian War Memorial on 16–17 October.

Defence Bank CEO Roberto Scenna said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening financial wellbeing across the Defence community.

“At Defence Bank, we’re proud to stand alongside Defence members and their families through every stage of Defence life. We understand the unique challenges and opportunities of service, transition and life beyond the military, and we’re here to help our members build financial confidence and long-term security every step of the way.” Mr Scenna said.

“Supporting Bravery Trek is a practical way for us to contribute to the financial wellbeing of veterans and their families, helping connect veterans and their families with the specialist support they need to regain stability and move forward with confidence.”

Bravery Trek is Bravery Trust’s national fundraising campaign, giving individuals, teams and workplaces a practical way to support veterans and families experiencing financial hardship.

Funds raised help deliver immediate financial assistance, specialist financial counselling and financial education, supporting veterans to stabilise their finances, manage debt and build longer-term financial stability.

Bravery Trust CEO Garth Callender said partnerships like Defence Bank are critical to delivering effective financial support.

“Defence Bank has a long history of supporting the Defence community and understands the financial pressures that can affect veterans and their families,” Mr Callender said.

“Their support helps us provide immediate, practical financial assistance and specialist financial counselling to veterans who need help to regain control of their finances.”

In 2025, more than 500 fundraisers took part in Bravery Trek, raising over $264,000 from nearly 1,800 donors – a record result for the campaign. Building on this momentum, Bravery Trust aims to grow the campaign further in 2026 and reach more veterans and families who need support.

Since 2012, the organisation has delivered more than $9 million in direct financial assistance to over 6,600 veterans and families, alongside specialist financial counselling and education.

Bravery Trek will run throughout October.
