Birdon’s  Meg Teasdell to champion veteran support

Bravery Trust is delighted to announce Meg Teasdell as its newest Bravery Trek Ambassador. The appointment recognises her commitment to inspiring others to support those who serve in the military.

Bravery Trek is an annual showcase event aligned to Veterans’ Health Week, raising funds and awareness for Bravery Trust to financially support veterans facing tough times.

Meg has been part of Bravery Trek for the past four years, meeting with and learning from current and ex-serving members about their time in service, and how it has shaped them.

Her commitment to excellence and community engagement makes Meg the perfect fit for an Ambassadorship. She joins a distinguished group of Australians who champion the work of Bravery Trust supporting ADF veterans through financial aid, financial counselling, and financial education.

“I’m incredibly honoured to be named a Bravery Trek Ambassador,” Meg said.

“Supporting our veterans is something I care deeply about, and I’m keen to help inspire others to get involved in raising awareness about the services available to veterans. Bravery Trek is more than just a run, walk, or roll; it’s a chance to give back to those who’ve served and support the vital work Bravery Trust does every day.”

Meg is Bids Manager at Birdon, an Australian-owned maritime engineering company. Birdon has recommitted its support for Bravery Trek as a 2025 sponsor.

Bravery Trust CEO Garth Callender said Meg’s authentic engagement with the veteran community made her an ideal ambassador choice.

“Meg’s humble energy has a way of lifting those around her and making sure no one is left behind – which embodies the spirit of Bravery Trek,” Mr Callender said.

“Her warmth and authenticity as part of our core running group resonates deeply with veterans and supporters alike, making her a powerful advocate for our mission.”

This year’s Bravery Trek takes participants on a virtual tour of Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan, recognising Australia’s longest military conflict where thousands of contemporary veterans served.  The national virtual format allows participants anywhere in Australia to join the mission supporting veterans impacted by their service.

Bravery Trek 2025 will spotlight stories from Afghanistan veterans, sharing accounts of camaraderie, purpose, and the enduring impact of deployment.

Sign up today and join Meg in the 120km challenge to support our veterans.
