Wilson Security Joins ADF Assistance Trust as Sponsor

Jun 25 , 2015

Bravery Trust recently welcomed Wilson Security as its newest corporate partner in the capacity of Sponsor. Wilson Security is Australia and New Zealand’s leading security provider, with a 9000-strong team of security professionals protecting the wellbeing of thousands of customers and their businesses every day.

Many of Wilson Security’s staff are former ADF members, so the three year sponsorship is a fitting tribute to the defence community generally and in particular to those veterans and their families who find themselves in difficult financial circumstances as a result of their service. Wilson Security’s Executive General Manager, Southern Pacific, John Rogers said “Wilson Security is proud to partner with ADF Assistance Trust to assist current and former servicemen and women. As the largest provider of access control services to the Department of Defence we saw this as a fitting extension of our ongoing relationship.”

ADF Assistance Trust Chairman The Honourable Dr Ken Michael AC has led the charge to increase awareness and funding for its work with veterans and their families in dire circumstances, most notably through the Trust’s corporate partnerships program with leading Australian companies, and is delighted to have such a well-known and respected brand name as a Sponsor. “Wilson Security is a great supporter of our defence personnel and works with many government departments, including the Department of Defence, around the country. We’re pleased to have them as a sponsor and look forward to a number of innovative initiatives with them that will highlight our work and their commitment to the Trust.”

Since its establishment three years ago the ADF Assistance Trust has provided over $500,000 in financial support to hundreds of ADF members, veterans and their families, providing assistance in the areas of education and retraining costs, emergency food and utility bills, ancillary healthcare and other special needs.

It is expected that demand for the Trust’s assistance will grow in the coming years as the incidence of traumatic physical injuries and mental health issues such as PTSD increases, making funding for its work vital to ensuring the best possible outcomes for injured and ill veterans and their families and paving the way for their reintegration into their communities. The high profile support from Wilson Security will help the Trust fulfil its vision that no family suffers financial hardship as a result of their service to the nation.
